Below is a list of Police Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and other useful information in relatoin to the Police, how they should behave and the extent of their authority. 

Section 22, "Failure to perform duty" (available here) of Part 1 of the Police Fire Reform (Scotland) Act 2012 clearly outlines the offences related to a Police Constable failing to carry out his/her duties and carries a fine and/or custodial sentence.
